Free Introductory Kōrero / Talanoa

A relaxed first meeting to build connection, understand your mahi, and hear your priorities in your own words

Sometimes the best first step is simply a conversation.

This free 30-minute kōrero / talanoa is an opportunity for us to meet properly, learn more about each other’s work, and explore whether there may be useful ways to support each other.

The conversation is relaxed, practical, and relationship-first. There is no sales pressure, technical audit, or expectation that anything further needs to happen.

What we may talk about

Every conversation is different, but we may discuss:

  • your organisation and the mahi you do

  • current priorities or pressures

  • where time, systems, reporting, communication, or coordination challenges may exist

  • whether AI or digital systems may safely support parts of the work

  • governance, privacy, accessibility, or cultural considerations

  • what a useful next step could look like, if any

The aim is not to diagnose or rush decisions.

The aim is to listen, understand context, and build connection.

Who this kōrero / talanoa is for

This space is designed for Māori, Pacific, and values-led organisations, teams, community groups, and business owners who want a practical, grounded conversation before deciding whether any further support is useful.

You do not need to:

  • already understand AI

  • have a project ready

  • know what service you need

  • be ready to buy anything

What this kōrero / talanoa is not

This is not:

  • a sales pitch

  • a technical assessment

  • a full AI strategy session

  • a proposal workshop

  • legal, privacy, cyber, or governance advice

  • an implementation session

It is a first meeting.

What happens after the meeting

After the kōrero / talanoa, we may decide:

  • no further action is needed

  • another conversation would be useful

  • a Practical AI Snapshot may help

  • an AI Systems Consult is appropriate

  • a larger diagnostic or implementation pathway makes sense

  • another relationship or referral pathway is more appropriate

There is no obligation to continue.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the kōrero / talanoa?

  • The meeting is approximately 30 minutes. The aim is to create enough space for a relaxed first conversation without rushing the kōrero.

Do I need to prepare anything?

  • No formal preparation is required.

It may help to think about:

    • the mahi your organisation is focused on

    • any current pressures or priorities

    • any early questions you may have

Please do not send sensitive or confidential documents through email, forms, chat, or the booking system.

Is this a sales call?

  • No. This is a relationship-first meeting to introduce ourselves properly, understand your context, and explore whether there may be a useful next step.

There is no obligation to continue beyond the first conversation.

What if I am not sure what support I need yet?

  • That is completely fine.

Many people book a kōrero / talanoa because they are still exploring where AI or digital systems may or may not fit within their organisation.

Part of the purpose of the meeting is to help create clarity before making decisions.

Is this a sales call?

  • No. This is genuine AI strategy guidance. If a paid service makes sense, we'll recommend it clearly - but there's no pressure.

What kinds of organisations do you work with?

  • I mainly work alongside Māori, Pacific, and values-led organisations, including:

    • community organisations

    • charities

    • social enterprises

    • SMEs

    • public sector teams

    • kaupapa-led initiatives

The work is always grounded in the organisation’s real-world context, capacity, and responsibilities.

What happens after the meeting?

After the kōrero / talanoa, we may decide:

  • no further action is needed

  • another conversation would be useful

  • a Practical AI Snapshot may help

  • an AI Systems Consult is appropriate

  • a broader implementation or governance pathway makes sense

Sometimes the most useful outcome is simply greater clarity.

What if I have governance, privacy, accessibility, or cultural concerns?

  • That is a normal and important part of the conversation. The approach used through JamesPratt.com is relationship-first, culturally grounded, accessibility-conscious, and governance-aware. The goal is not to push technology into places it does not fit. The goal is to understand the mahi first and make careful, practical decisions from there.
