Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about The Village, Founding Membership, resources, pricing, Member Give-Back and cancellation

1. What is The Village?

  • The Village is a kaupapa-led paid membership for people working out what comes next in an AI-changing world. It starts with where you are now rather than assuming a particular solution.

  • In practice, members can use practical resources for the mahi in front of them, ask questions and join shared kōrero, contribute their own experience and perspectives, and build genuine relationships over time.

  • James hosts and guides the environment, and members can participate in their own way and help shape what develops.

2. What is The Library?

  • The Village is the membership.

  • The Library is where the practical resources live, including guides, workbooks, checklists, templates, prompt packs, tool stacks, courses, audio and video.

3. Who is The Village for?

  • The Village is for people who are looking at their own situation and asking, “What can I do, and where do I start?”

  • You might be responding to changing work, financial pressure, a new idea, something you want to learn, or simply wanting more possibilities around you. There is no predetermined pathway.

  • You do not need to own a business or be an AI expert. Paid membership is for people aged 18 or over.

4. Are new resources added?

  • Yes. The first 50 resources are already live, and The Library will continue to grow over time as useful needs are identified.

  • You do not need to use everything. Start with the resource that fits the task in front of you.

5. Why do I need resources when AI can create them?

  • AI can create resources, but starting with a blank prompt can turn one task into another project. You may still need to prompt, check and correct what it produces.

  • The Library gives you a practical starting point you can check, adapt and use for your own situation, with or without AI.

  • AI does not automatically have to be the answer. Use what fits the mahi in front of you.

6. What are Village Spaces?

  • Village Spaces give members somewhere to follow updates, ask questions, share ideas, introduce themselves and participate as The Village grows.

  • Participation is optional. Members can take part in the way and at the pace that works for them.

7. Do I have to network or introduce myself?

  • No. The Village is not built around forced networking or compulsory participation.

  • You can begin by using a resource, following updates, asking a question or contributing an idea. Optional introduction and connection opportunities may also be provided.

  • Relationships and trust develop over time and cannot be guaranteed.

8. What is the Village Roadmap?

  • The Village Roadmap shows what is live and what we are working on next.

  • It gives members a simple view of how The Village is developing as we learn from real member experience.

9. Is The Village already finished, and who hosts it?

  • No. James began The Village and continues to host and guide the kaupapa, but one person cannot bring a village to life.

  • Members are invited to help shape what develops through their questions, suggestions, participation, connections and contributions.

  • Participation is invited, not demanded. Suggestions cannot always be implemented, and The Village will continue to develop carefully through real member experience and evidence.

10. What happens after I join?

  • You can begin in the Start Here area and choose one useful first step based on where you are now.

  • That might be using an included Library resource, following an update, asking a question, joining a Village Space or sharing something you know.

  • You do not need to do everything. Start with what is useful now and build from there.

11. What does Founding Village Membership cost?

  • Founding Monthly is NZ$9.95/month.

  • Founding Annual is NZ$99.50/year, giving you 12 months for the price of 10.

  • The first 500 paid members keep their Founding rate for as long as their membership remains active.

12. Should I choose monthly or annual?

  • Choose monthly if you prefer flexibility and a smaller recurring payment.

  • Choose annual if you want 12 months for the price of 10. Both plans provide the same Village access.

13. What is the difference between the New Zealand and Global plans?

  • Both plans provide the same access to The Village.

  • The New Zealand plan is for New Zealand residents aged 18 or over. The Global plan is for people living outside New Zealand.

  • If a future Member Give-Back benefit has specific eligibility requirements, these will be confirmed when that benefit is announced.

14. What is Member Give-Back?

  • Member Give-Back is one way additional value can flow back to members as The Village grows.

  • From time to time, this may include confirmed benefits such as recognition, rewards, partner benefits or other useful opportunities.

  • New benefits will only be added when they are ready, appropriate and genuinely useful to members.

  • Member Give-Back is a benefit of The Village. It is not the reason The Village exists.

15. Can I buy one resource without joining?

  • Yes. Selected resources can be purchased separately for NZ$14.95 each.

  • Founding Village Membership gives you access to included Library resources together with the wider Village membership, from NZ$9.95/month.

16. How can I use the resources?

  • You can use and adapt the resources for your own work, projects and context.

  • Membership does not include permission to resell, rebrand, redistribute or share the original resource files.

17. Does membership include personal advice or support from James?

  • The Village includes practical help with finding, accessing and using its resources and spaces. James hosts and guides the environment, listens to questions and ideas, and uses what he learns to help shape what develops.

  • Membership does not include unlimited one-to-one advice, personalised support or individual consulting.

  • Organisational AI advice and services are a separate JamesPratt.com pathway.

  • The resources are practical starting points and do not replace legal, financial, employment, privacy, cyber security or other specialist professional advice.

18. Can I cancel, and are refunds available?

  • You can cancel a monthly membership or an annual renewal at any time.

  • Cancellation stops the next renewal, and your access continues until the end of the current paid period.

  • Previous payments are not automatically refunded for change of mind after digital access has been provided. This does not limit your rights under New Zealand consumer law.

19. What makes a Founding Membership different?

  • Founding Membership recognises the first 500 paid members who join The Village early.

  • Founding Members keep NZ$9.95/month or NZ$99.50/year for as long as their paid membership remains active. After the first 500 paid members, the planned standard rate for new members is NZ$19.95/month.

  • Founding Members can participate in their own way and help shape what develops over time. Participation is optional, and suggestions cannot always be implemented.
